Dr Parbati Gurung joined the Gumeracha practice in January 2018. She has worked in medicine for more than two decades, including almost 15 years in Australia, across a variety of clinical departments in Nepal and Australia. Working across different departments taught her the value of continuity of care, getting to know patients not just through their illnesses but as people, and the chance to support patients through all stages of life is what drew her to general practice. Parbati enjoys getting to know her patients as individuals, building long-term relationships and working together toward practical and sustainable health goals. Alongside comprehensive general practice care, she has particular interests in women’s health, including contraception and long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) insertion and removal, preventive care, chronic disease management, skin checks and minor skin lesion procedures. Parbati completed her medical degree at the University of Science and Technology Chittagong in 2004, gained her Australian Medical Council certificate in 2016, and achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2022. Outside the clinic, she stays active with jogging, hiking and local bushwalking, and enjoys travelling with family and friends.
