Dr Chris Withnall completed medical school in 2000 then travelled Australia gaining experience in rural and remote medicine, emergency management and surgery on his journey to becoming a General Practitioner. He was awarded Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine in 2013, having completed his final years of training in Gumeracha. Dr Withnall has broad experience of all facets of general practice, but has a particular interest in healthy ageing, sports and injury rehabilitation, and lifestyle improvement. He has advanced skills in skin surgery in the clinic, including skin cancer excisions with flaps and grafts where needed, punch and shave biopsies, removal of cysts and lipomas, wedge resections for ingrown toenails, and drainage of abscesses. He also stitches cuts, removes foreign bodies (including from eyes, using a slit lamp microscope), and treats suitable spots with cryotherapy (freezing) or fine electrical cautery. He can assess and treat many skin lesions in the clinic, with strong referral pathways for plastic surgical opinion for the most complex cases. He practises what he preaches and would love to help you feel and live a “better kind of normal”.
