Dr Amos Maina

Dr Maina was born in Kenya where he completed his early education . He trained as a pharmacist at the University of Nairobi, then worked in government hospitals, manufacturing and in retail pharmacy. He moved to Australia with his wife in 2001 and they continued to work in community pharmacy before he decided to change career. He enrolled at Flinders University as a mature age student. After completing Medical School in 2014 he worked at Flinders Medical Centre, the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospitals before embarking on GP training. He is passionate about Men's Health and Chronic Disease Management. He lives in Cudlee Creek with his wife, who is a pharmacist in Gumeracha. They enjoy gardening, and love to travel when they can.

We are very pleased to welcome Dr Maina back to Gum Medical, after several years gaining experience in other practices, while he completes his General Practice training.
